Patch 3


This update seeks to lower the skill floor by making it easier for players to react to danger. Deaths should be more frequently caused by a series of repeated mistakes, rather than a single fatal error. It also changes some enemy damage values to compensate for the additional invulnerability time.

  • Increased invulnerability period after getting hit from 10 frames to 13.
  • Increased invulnerability period after getting hit by a heavy attack from 0 frames to 15.
  • Yancy now flashes while invulnerable.
  • Added 12 frame stagger period to enemy light attacks.
    • Stagger period is additional to standard actionable invulnerability.
  • Yancy now takes zero knockback from lethal damage.
    • Knockback would often obfuscate the collision with the lethal hit during the freeze frame.
  • Increased Old Watcher's melee damage from 1 to 2.
  • Increased Dead Eye's fire wall attack damage from 2 to 3.
  • All sword attacks are now interrupted if the player takes damage while mid attack.
    • Except for the Slabsword, which is now uniquely uninterrupted by light attacks.
  • Edited loading screen tips.
  • Rock Eater projectile speed lowered.
    • Many players struggle with this enemy, but this isn't entirely unintentional. The slower projectile speed should help players less familiar with the enemy respond to their attack, and make it easier to manage fighting more than one at a time.
  • The bed is now always interactable, even when you can't use it.
  • Added a single tin ore to the room in Dead Man's Pass with the pickaxe tutorial sign.
  • Swapped the text of the east and west Age Old Cove steles, and swapped Otto's translations respectively.
  • Fixed a bug allowing the player to leave Dead Eye's boss room before it had been defeated.
  • Fixed a bug that caused environmental animations to freeze after reading notes.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Old Watcher and Old Brawler from playing sound effects in certain conditions.
